Fried breaded tofu with hoisin dipping sauce

Source: Fine Cooking #117 (also at FineCooking.com)

People either love or hate tofu.

This is a way to make tofu irresistible.

Tofu is slices into triangular wedges, dredged in cornstarch, dipped in a seasoned egg mixture, breaded with panko, fried in 1/4-inch of oil until golden and crispy, and then seasoned with salt.

The fried tofu is served with a dipping sauce made with hoisin sauce, rice vinegar and chili sauce.

We served this alongside chopped spinach fried in butter and simply seasoned with salt.
