In the spirit of the Chinese New Year, I made an interesting cocktail that is apparently the hottest drink in China right now.
It’s a simple combination of scotch whisky and green tea. One part scotch to 3 parts green tea (let the green tea cool to room temperature), and serve over ice.
The scotch and green tea make a strangely refreshing combination. As I was drinking this, I realized that scotch and green tea have a lot of similar notes, so they combine quite nicely. The 1-3 ratio provides a good balance, allowing both the scotch and green tea to come through.
While it was a nice way to celebrate the Chinese New Year, I’m looking forward to trying this again on a warm day sitting out on the balcony.
